Kawasan Falls In Cebu – A Complete Guide

Kawasan Falls is one of the most recognisable waterfalls in the world! So here’s all the info for visiting, plus what to expect canyoneering.

How To Get To Kawasan Falls

Kawasan Falls is located in the town of Badian on Cebu Island. Although most tourists choose to stay in the more popular town of Moalboal, which is around a 40 minute drive from the falls.

The best way to get around South Cebu is to rent scooters for around 400 Pesos per day and explore.

If you’re not confident on scooters there are always locals hanging around on trikes, just make sure to barter the price for a ride.

A public bus runs from Moalboal to Badian daily (stopping at Kawsan Falls). The bus costs around 20 Pesos and takes roughly 45 minutes. Just ask your accommodation for help locating its departure point.

If you book a Kawasan Falls Canyoneering & Cliff Jump Private Tour then transport to and from your accommodation should be included.

For those short on time, or that prefer everything to be organised for them, there are some awesome tours on Get Your Guide available to book in advance.

How To Book A Kawasan Falls Canyoneering Tour

We’ve visited Kawasan Falls twice.

Once alone in 2017 to take photos and swim at the main falls.

And a second time in 2019 on a full Kawasan Falls Canyoneering & Cliff Jump Private Tour with Mcrich Canyoneering.

We cannot recommend taking a tour enough. From the energy, to the tasty BBQ lunch and of course the excellent safety procedures.

Our tour team of four were a mixture of old and young, spoke great English and were really good fun to spend time with.

Their Canyoneering Kawasan Falls tour includes:

  • Hotel pick-up and drop-off
  • Local guide
  • Lunch
  • Motorbike ride to the jump point
  • Entrance fees to Kawasan Falls and the Badian canyoneering activity
  • Safety gear for canyoning (life jacket, aqua shoes, and helmet)
  • Towels

What To Expect At Kawasan Falls

A full on day of adventure! This is definitely one of the best things to do in the Philippines.

From the get-go, we were jumping from cliffs and literally rolling down waterfalls, into the insanely beautiful turquoise waters.

We were hosting a group trip, so had a gang of 12 of us and it was by far the best day of our Philippines tour.

There was no pressure to partake in any of the jumps if you didn’t want to. However, pretty much everyone jumped at some point during the day.

The tour time ran from 9am-3pm, with that time including transfers and lunch. All in all, we were actually in the water for a good 3-4 hours!

Just to be clear, the canyoneering Kawasan Falls tour does not involve abseiling or the use of any climbing gear.

It is a day of jumping, swimming and climbing through countless waterfalls in clear blue water and stunning nature.

At certain points we just had to stop, look around and just take in and appreciate where we were and what we were doing.

If you’re looking for a day of incredible adventure and are keen to get stuck in, then a canyoneering Kawasan Falls tour is definitely the perfect tour for you!

Starting at the top of the falls and working your way down, you eventually arrive at the famous big blue waterfall of Cebu.
