Uluwatu is recognised as one of the top places in Bali, so we’ve put together our list of things to do in Uluwatu that you cannot miss on your trip!
1. Hit The Uluwatu Beaches
The Bukit Peninsula, and Uluwatu beaches in particular, are famous for some of the softest sand and clearest waters in Bali.
From Padang Padang to the lesser known Green Bowl, the south beaches are the definitely the best for soaking up some sun in paradise and of course one of the top things to do in Uluwatu.

2. Learn To Surf
For first time surfers, the Uluwatu may not be the best idea.
Although for the professionals or even those that are keen surfers, the surrounding areas of Uluwatu are a big hit!
Suluban Beach is a top spot for surfing and if you’re not keen to get in the water you can watch from the many cliff top restaurants such as Single Fin or Rock Bar.
You can book a Canggu 2 Hour Surf Lesson in advance with a trusted instructor.

3. Visit The Abandoned Plane Bali
An abandoned airplane in the middle of a random field! Who wouldn’t want to play around in an Aeroplane graveyard?
We’re not sure you can go down and explore, or at least we had no luck when we visited, but it sure does make for an amazing photo and one of the more different things to do in Uluwatu.
A lot of rumours say it was bought in pieces by a westerner and put together to be turned into a fully functioning restaurant.
However, as you can see, the project was never finished but it still stands as one of the hidden gems of Bali.

4. Karang Boma Cliff (Uluwatu Cliff)
Karang Boma Cliff, also known as the Uluwatu Cliff, is the most popular viewpoint in the south of Bali.
If you’re looking for that perect sunset spot, or fancy an amazing viewpoint then Karang Boma Cliff is exactly that.
The edge of Karang Boma Cliff is easy to get to, although it’s super steep and as dangerous as it looks in the photos. So please be careful!
View wise you can look out as far as the eye can see into the Indian Ocean and round a little to other Uluwatu hot spots.
An easy walk through some bushes will lead you out to one of the best coastal views in Bali and best of all it’s free!

5. Check Out The Restaurants In Uluwatu
There are so many cliff top restaurants and awesome chill spots to soak in the atmosphere whilst in Uluwatu.
A few of our favourites though are Single Fin and The Cashew Tree.
This hub of bali is becoming one of the most touristy spots so be prepared to pay the price at some of the cliff top eateries, although they definitely have the western customers craving a return trip!

I loved Uluwatu! Single Fin was awesome! I missed the abandoned plane though! Did you visit Casa Asis? The food there was so good. I also did a detox night at the Yoga searcher!
