Wang Sai Waterfall Koh Phangan is located on the North East point of the island, a 2 minute drive from Haad Mae Haad Beach.

We stayed in the Thong Sala area of Koh Phangan and rented scooters for 180 Baht per day.

It’s definitely the easiest way to explore the island and takes roughly 30 minutes to reach Wang Sai Waterfall Koh Phangan from Thong Sala Pier.

Best Time To Visit Wang Say Waterfall Koh Phangan + Tips

With temperatures hovering around 32° to 36° and up to 9 hours of sunshine a day, the months between November and April are probably the driest and best time to visit Thailand.

The months from April to May are the hottest in the country and with temperatures regularly topping 40°, are to be avoided unless you like it really hot!

July onwards starts the monsoon, and the next three months are the wettest. This is actually when the waterfalls are in full flow obviously or if you visit after a rainstorm.

Be careful if clambering around on the rocks as they can be slippery.

Great place for a picnic.

What To Expect At Wang Sai Waterfall Koh Phangan

Wang Sai Waterfall Koh Phangan is one of the lesser known Koh Phangan Waterfalls on the island at the moment.

We weren’t sure what to expect, having done no research on the falls beforehand, but when we arrived we were greeted by a definite up-and-coming tourist spot!

Bamboo entrance gates and huge activity signs paved the way. Then it was just a short 150 metre walk to Wang Sai Waterfall itself.

Surrounded by high rock faces and plenty of lush green vegetation, we could imagine that when the water is in full-flow this place would be pretty amazing.

The water would make its way down over several layers of rock filling large basins that would be perfect for a cool dip.

Like the other waterfalls on Koh Phangan, such as Phaeng Waterfall & Paradise Waterfall, we unfortunately visited in dry season! So the water wasn’t amazing. Although we did get a glimpse of just how beautiful it could be in high season.

The locals were super friendly and the park was well maintained. There was also lots of work ongoing for what looked like some kind of amphitheatre and some tree top cafes.
