Thong Sala Night Market Koh Phangan was our go to spot most evenings for dinner. With every kind of food you can think of, here’s all you need to know.
How To Get To Thong Sala Night Market Koh Phangan
Thong Sala Night Market Koh Phangan, also known as Pantip Market, is located directly in front of the Thong Sala Pier.
If you’re looking for transport to and from Koh Phangan, you can pre-book all of your Lomprayah transfers.
Just head straight over the roundabout from the pier, and you’ll find one of the best spots for food on the island.
We stayed in the Thong Sala area of Koh Phangan and rented scooters for 180 Baht per day.
It’s definitely the easiest way to explore the island and took just 5 minutes to reach Thong Sala Night Market every evening.
For those short on time, or that prefer everything to be organised for them, there are some awesome tours on Get Your Guide available to book in advance.

Best Time To Visit Thong Sala Night Market + Tips
Some of the more permanent stalls are open during the day, selling food and drink, but from 4pm onwards the market really starts to come alive.
After this time onwards until 11pm, you will find a massive array of freshly cooked local food on offer.
As the evening goes on the area really starts to fill up with locals and tourist but there is plenty to go around.
Try the local mango sticky rice – it’s delicious.
Don’t forget to haggle if buying clothes etc at the Saturday night market.
What To Pack
What To Expect At Thong Sala Night Market
FOOD!! Lots and lots of delicious and different foods along with beers, smoothies and desserts.
From local fried meats to vegan and vegetarian options the food varies in price from 20 baht snacks to 100 baht meals.
The majority of food on offer is tasty Thai cuisine but you will find a few stalls selling some international dishes if Thai food is not your thing or you fancy something different.
The choice of shakes/smoothies is amazing and they really are delicious with as many combinations as you can think of. Including strawberry, blueberry, banana, coconut, guava, passionfruit and many more.
If you have room for something sweet – there are also donuts to die for, along with pancakes, ice cream, brownies and the delicious local favourite, mango sticky rice.
Our go-to was the little Thai lady with the vegetarian burritos, followed by a coconut shake and a donut! Bon-appetite!

Don’t Miss The Thong Sala Saturday Night Market
Every Saturday evening the old Thong Sala high street gets closed off between 4pm-10pm and an extra assortment of stalls are added to the already bustling market.
These stalls offer such things as clothing, make-up, shoes, jewellery and more. The jewellery stand is usually quite popular with unique handcrafted necklaces, bracelets, rings etc for sale.
The hustle and bustle of the market has a friendly, community feel with, what feels like, the whole town coming out to enjoy the good food, bargains and socialising.
Don’t forget to haggle with the market sellers and try and negotiate a good price if you see something you fancy. This is perfectly acceptable and expected by the vendors, so give it a go and you might surprise yourself.
We would recommend aiming to try and halve the original asking price if possible but go with the flow and enjoy the banter.
So, if you’re looking for something different to do with your Saturday night and want to see some smiley faces and hang out with the locals, whilst filling your belly at the same time, then this is an awesome spot to hang out.
