One of the top things to do in Val Di Sole Trentino is definitely visit Stelvio National Park.
The National Park is a huge protected area in the centre of the alps in Northern Italy. There are all kinds of wildlife that are habitant to Stelvio. If you’re as lucky as we were you might even have a glimpse of the deers that live in the forest.
There are also plenty of different nature trails dotted around Stelvio National Park, some even with WW1 military ruins.
Some treks are much harder than others, it all depends what you’re into. We did two day-treks and really enjoyed seeing the different sides of the Valley.
For the really adventurous Rafting Down Noce River in Val di Sole takes you through this beautiful National Park.

Lago Covel is not all about the lake though. There is a small trek around the lake, which takes around half an hour at a slow pace and includes a waterfall.
There are also numerous picnic tables surrounding the lake, as well as open grassy areas. So, if the weather is good, don’t forget to take your picnic blanket and a good feast when you visit.

There’s an information centre not far from the lake, if you are interested in learning more about the local landscape.
As well as the Agritur Malga Bassa (restaurant and bar) lakeside, if you want to stop and enjoy a drink or food with beautiful views.
It’s quite a secluded area and perfect for a peaceful afternoon walk and, like most of the beautiful lakes in this region, Lago Dei Caprioli also has some insane reflections.
The pine trees, snow capped mountains and nature walkways give it a real enchanted-forest feel and should definitely be on your list of things to do in Val Di Sole Trentino.
Trentino cuisine has two famous local ingredients that you will probably be served in at least one of your meals during your visit.
The first being apples that are used in cakes, desserts and also savoury dishes. In fact the apples of Val di Sole and Val di Non are said to be some of the best in Italy.
The second being cheeses that are made in the local dairy farms and mountain huts and are enjoyed all across Italy.
However, as you may already know, Itay is super famous for its pasta and do they eat it every day? Yes almost!
This delicious staple food is available all across the country, with recipes varying from region to region. With everyone we asked, saying that they ate pasta three times a week minimum, normally as a lunch time meal.
All I can say is that all the pasta dishes we managed to try, were by far the best pasta dishes we’ve ever eaten!
This may not be one of the usual things to do in Val Di Sole Trentino but if it’s your first time in Italy, like us, you should definitely try it.
