Tanjung Aan Beach is covered in pristine white sand and, with its iconic swings, is a place you must experience. So here’s all the info for visiting.
How To Get To Tanjung Aan Beach Lombok
Tanjung Aan Beach is around a 15 minute drive from Kuta, the main tourist area in Lombok.
We always choose to rent scooters, which start at around 50,000 IDR per day, and explore ourselves. These can usually be rented from your accommodation or they will point you in the right direction.
Another option is to rent a driver, which is pretty popular for day trips around Lombok, and they start at around 500,000 IDR per day (8 hours).
For those short on time, or that prefer everything to be organised for them, there are some awesome tours on Get Your Guide available to book in advance.

What To Pack
What To Expect At Tanjung Aan Beach Lombok
We headed to Tanjung Aan Beach as soon as we arrived in Lombok.
We’d heard from a lot of people that it was the most popular beach in Kuta and the crystal white sand and turquoise waters didn’t disappoint.
As soon as we arrived we could see the colours for miles and couldn’t wait to get in the waters. It was literally paradise compared to the black sand beaches in Canggu we’d been used to.
Tanjung Aan Beach is great for swimming as the water is not too shallow, like some of the other beaches, and you can clearly see any reefs and avoid them.
This beach is also recommended for surfing novices. It’s possible to book up surf lessons and also paddle boarding if you are looking to get active.
The beach also has many swings for that perfect Instagram snap, as well as a row of local warungs (restaurants) and bamboo loungers for the less active!

We paid 25,000 IDR for a Mie Goreng (vegetable noodles) which included beach chairs for the day. We’re not sure if you usually have to pay for these but the swing was also free.
Overall, the picturesque beach was the dream intro to our Lombok experience and has to be one of the best beaches in Lombok.
We spent the day kicking back and chilling in paradise, with a few breaks in between to dive into the cool waters to refresh, before heading over to Batu Payung for sunset.
Tanjung Aan Beach is a must visit when in Kuta!
Also, another great spot for beautiful sunset views, Bukit Merese Hill, is just a few minutes away.
