1. Echo Beach

Echo Beach Bali is one of the most popular surf spots in Canggu.

Whether it be at beginner level, or for those that are fully capable, Echo Beach is where the majority of Canggu surfers head.

Echo beach has several surf spots from intermediate to expert level.

The first is Echo beach reef break itself, a left hand wave in front of the break water and the restaurants.

The wave hits a pretty shallow reef suddenly and can barrel. It isn’t suitable for beginners in this area, and the more skilled surfers will find stiff competition from the experts here.

Sand Bar Surf Spot is another spot and also breaks suddenly, sometimes heavier than Echo reef, but it is a sand bottom so it is a little safer for those that like a challenge. It runs both right and left.

Echo beach River Mouth Surf Spot is the final spot. It is a right hand wave that can run almost all the way to sand bar. Beginners tend to use these waves.

Echo Beach is not only the spot for Canggu Surfing, but it’s full of beach bars too. If you’re not up for riding the waves, you can watch from the many quirky bars and restaurants scattered along the coastline.

As Batu Bolong Beach is one of the most crowded beaches in Canggu, you can only imagine how busy it gets in the ocean.

You will see all kinds of surfers in the lineup, from professional surfers to famous locals and the many beginners trying it out.

Pererenan Beach is a beautiful black sand beach, around 500 meters long, with the stunning view of the Indian Ocean.

This is one of the quieter surf spots in Canggu, however a great spot for catching a wave.

There isn’t any food stalls or sun loungers for rent at this Canggu surfing spot. However, there is a cocktail truck at the entrance, serving fresh coconuts and both alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages.

Where surfing is concerned, the reef is a little shallow on the inside so choose where to go in and out carefully. This spot has both a left hand and a right hand wave so you can take your pick and practice all day long.
