Silver Beach In Koh Samui – A Complete Guide

If you’re looking for the best beach in Koh Samui, look no further. Also known as Crystal Bay, here’s all you need to know about Silver Beach Koh Samui.

How To Get To Silver Beach Koh Samui

Silver Beach is located on the East side of the island, just a short drive down from the popular tourist area or Chaweng.

We stayed in the Chaweng area of Koh Samui and rented a scooter for 150 Baht per day. This gave us access to the whole island!

It took us around 20 minutes to drive down from Chaweng to Silver Beach and whilst in the area we recommend checking out Lamai Beach and the famous Penis Rock!

If you’re looking for transport to and from Koh Samui, you can pre-book all of your Lomprayah transfers.

For those short on time, or that prefer everything to be organised for them, there are some awesome tours on Get Your Guide available to book in advance.

What To Expect At Silver Beach Koh Samui

Silver Beach Koh Samui was definitely our favourite beach and it was all down to the beautiful pure white sand and perfectly transparent water.

It offers the perfect spot for sunbathing, swimming and snorkelling. You can even see small fishes swimming around your legs if you step into the water.

This 250 metre long tropical beach paradise is set in a charming little bay just north of Lamai Beach . It is surrounded by beautiful rocks and has some private sandy areas to relax in.

With it being such a perfect location along with its lovely chilled atmosphere, we had to make Silver Beach our best beach in Koh Samui.

The best beach in Koh Samui

To get to Silver Beach Koh Samui, it can be a little misleading. It also goes by the name of Crystal Bay because of the name of one of the resorts that sits right on the beach.

So, when you’re entering the beach it actually looks like you’re driving up to a hotel but if you keep passing through you will find the entrance to the beach.

It was a little busy when we visited but that definitely doesn’t affect its standing as our best beach in Koh Samui.

Resorts At Silver Beach

The hotels and restaurants running along the back of the beach include Crystal Bay Beach Resort, Silver Beach Resort, Thongtakian Resort and the Crystal Bay Yacht Club.

If you’re looking for a nice meal whilst at the beach, all the resorts have beachfront restaurants serving fresh local seafood as well as classic international dishes.

Crystal Bay Yacht Club, at the southern end of the beach, hosts a dive centre offering a wide choice of day trips and PADI courses. It also has a beach club/restaurant that has live music, a beachfront pool and fresh Thai and international dishes.

Sea kayaks are available to rent from the hotels and there are a couple of beach massage parlours under the shade of the trees that offer a range of massages, manicures and pedicures.
