Sentiero Delle Aquile, also known as the Eagle Trail, is one of the most popular walks at the top of Cima Paganella. Here’s all the info for visiting.
How To Get To Sentiero Delle Aquile
Sentiero Delle Aquile is a an easy trek located on Cima Paganella, the peak of the Paganella region.
To reach Cima Paganella, you must take cable cars from Paganella 2001 in the town of Andalo.
The walk starts at top of the mountain, directly as you step off the cable cars, simply follow the signs to Santiero Delle Aquile.
The trek takes roughly 1 hour 30 minutes to reach the Eagle plaque. However please bear in mind this is one way. You must return using the same path so allow for 3 hours in total.
If you’re in a large group, or would simply like an English speaking guide, then we highly recommend booking with Brenta Walk.
What To Expect At Sentiero Delle Aquile (Eagle Trail)
An easy, yet rewarding trek around the cliff edges of Paganella.
We spent our first day in Paganella scaling some of the most insane viewpoints in Trentino.
The Sentiero Delle Aquile path is pretty straight forward once you hop off the cable cars at the top.
The trail guides you around the edge of the mountains, and gives you some of the best views across the neighbouring peaks.
We spent the afternoon stopping for photos and taking in the views. During the time we were up there, we only passed one or two other people. So it was a pretty peaceful afternoon!

It takes roughly 1 hour 30 minutes from Cima Paganella to reach the Eagle Throne. However the path is one way so be prepared to double back on yourself for the return.
The safety is second to none on Sentiero Delle Aquile though, and there is even a full Via Ferrata experience available for those who fancy a little climbing.
Once you reach the Eagle Throne, or Throne of L’Aquila, you will follow the same Sentiero Delle Aquile path back to Cima Paganella.
Here you can enjoy a beautiful lunch break at Rifugio La Roda, before taking the cable cars back down to Andalo.
