Semeti Beach Lombok was the perfect way to finish off our full day of beach hopping around Kuta. So here’s our guide to everything Pantai Semeti.
How To Get To Semeti Beach
Semeti Beach, also known as Pantai Semeti by locals, is around a 45 minute drive West from Kuta, the main tourist area in Lombok.
We always choose to rent scooters, which start at around 50,000 IDR per day, and explore ourselves. These can usually be rented from your accommodation or they will point you in the right direction.
Another option is to rent a driver, which is pretty popular for day trips around Lombok, and they start at around 500,000 IDR per day (8 hours).
Semeti Beach is also just a short 10 minute drive around the corner from Mawi Beach, a popular spot for the best surf in Lombok,
For those short on time, or that prefer everything to be organised for them, there are some awesome tours on Get Your Guide available to book in advance.
Semeti Beach Entrance Fee
Entrance: 10,000 IDR per scooter.
Semeti Beach Opening Times
Open all day, every day.
Best Time to Visit Semeti Beach + Tips
This is a perfect spot for sunset photos as the colours are beautiful.
The driest months on the island of Lombok are July and August, although the weather is pretty good all year round with a mix of wet and dry as the climate moves towards the drier season.
The peak season for tourists is between May and October and it does get pretty busy.
The sand is not the best but the water is amazingly clear. Making it easy to look out and avoid any sea urchins!
What To Pack
What To Expect At Semeti Beach Lombok
We headed over to Semeti Beach at around 5pm just in time for sunset. The tide was low and the reflections on the water made for a magical little spot amongst the rock pools.
Semeti Beach is a little known spot amongst the Kuta beaches and we were literally the only people there.
Surrounded both sides by cliffs, like most of the Kuta beaches, we went for a walk to find a little spot to set up and chill.
The waters are crystal clear. So clear in fact that luckily we spotted a couple of sea urchins before we had chance to step on them! So if you’re going at high tide during the day please be careful in the water.
We only hung around long enough to watch the sunset before our short drive back to Kuta but the time we did spend at Semeti Beach couldn’t have been better.
The sky lit up for us with all sorts of fiery colours and it’s an evening we’ll always remember as part of our Lombok adventure. Definitely up there for us as one of the best beaches in Lombok.
