How To Get To Overlap Stone Viewpoint Koh Samui

Overlap Stone Viewpoint Koh Samui is located just a 5 minute drive away from Lamai Beach and easy to find using Google maps.

We stayed in the Chaweng area of Koh Samui and rented a scooter for 150 Baht per day. This gave us access to the whole island!

It took us around 25 minutes to drive down from Chaweng to Lamai and whilst in the area we recommend checking out Lamai Beach and Hin Ta & Hin Yai Rocks.

Overlap Stone Viewpoint Entrance Fee

Entrance: 50 Baht.

There is a local house next to the bridge and the lady that lives there will collect the fee.

Best Time To Visit Overlap Stone Viewpoint + Tips

The best time to visit Koh Samui is between the months of December and March, when the weather is most settled.

The hottest month of the year is June, with temperatures reaching 33°c.

Overlap Stone is increasing in popularity and quickly becoming a hot spot for tourists to get some great insta photos.

So, although it was pretty quiet when we visited, we would recommend getting there early to avoid the crowds and get the perfect shot.

The Thai family who live close to the rock are happy for people visit Overlap Stone Viewpoint. However, we tried to be respectful of the fact that this is their home.

Take care if climbing on the rock.

What To Expect At Overlap Stone Viewpoint Koh Samui

Just before you arrive at Overlap Stone, there’s a small bike carpark. The signs say ‘not to drive further with motorbikes’, so we suggest parking here.

At this point we found a small trail to another Koh Samui viewpoint, just 30 seconds away. We checked it out and it was definitely worth the little detour.

The view across the lush green tree tops to the beautiful blue ocean beyond was stunning and a great spot for some photos.

After we had taken some photos at the viewpoint near the bikes, we walked just 100 metres up the hill to where there was a small sign guiding the way to the Overlap Stone Viewpoint Koh Samui.

There’s a gravelled pathway that leads directly to the man-made bridge that connects the stone to the people and gives you the chance to get up close.

Overlap Stone viewpoint Koh Samui is a beautifully untouched natural phenomenon. This huge stone is actually delicately perched right in front of a lovely Thai family’s house.

The views from this gigantic stone stretch across the tree tops to Lamai Beach and the ocean. Offering up some fantastic photo opportunities.

The pretty bridge that leads up to Overlap Stone also gives some of the best views of the island!

Offering 2 dining options, the property also boasts an outdoor swimming pool with pool bar. 

Just 550 yards from the beach, the hotel is a 15-minute drive from Samui International Airport. Samui Ferry Terminal is a 30-minute drive away.

The Thai-style rooms come with wooden flooring and furnishings. Each room has a tea/coffee maker, a safe deposit box and a minibar.

Guests enjoy satellite channels on a flat-screen TV. An en suite bathroom comes with a shower.

Budget – Arina Boutique Residence

Just off Chaweng Beach Road, the family-run Arina Boutique Residence offers cosy rooms decorated with traditional Thai artwork.

Providing free Wi-Fi, it is just 2 minutes’ drive from central Chaweng. Arina Residence is a 30-minute drive from Nathon Ferry Pier and a 45-minute drive from Tong Yang Ferry Port.

Koh Samui Airport is a 15-minute drive from the hotel. 

Decorated with dark wood furnishings, rooms at Arina feature a private balcony and a 29-inch flat-screen cable/satellite TV.

We visited the the «Overlap Stone » on Koh Samui on 12/18/22 and were very disappointed. We had to pay now 100 THB for parking our car and then another 50 THB per person "Entrance". Yes, the view is ok - but there are many better Viewpoints like this - also with massiv rock formations - in the Chaweng Noi Era.

Also the road is very step and very dangerous. We saw 2 motorcycle accidents within 30 minutes.

@Boris,

the overlap stone is now permanently cloded by the owner of that private property. The bridge has been removed and the acces from the street is blocked with a big fence. If you access the area, the are signs telling you that Violators are finet with THB 20.000....
