One of our favourite days on Koh Samui was visiting Na Muang Waterfalls. Not to be missed, here’s all the info for the visiting.
Na Muang Waterfalls are easily accessible by road. The two falls are located right next to each other and you can take the highway all the way there.
We stayed in the Chaweng area of Koh Samui and rented a scooter for 150 Baht per day. This gave us access to the whole island!
It took us around 40 minutes to drive across from Chaweng to Na Muang Waterfalls. Whilst nearby we recommend heading to Lipa Noi Beach for sunset!
If you’re looking for transport to and from Koh Samui, you can pre-book all of your Lomprayah transfers.
For those short on time, or that prefer everything to be organised for them, there are some awesome tours on Get Your Guide available to book in advance.

If you prefer less crowds and slightly cooler temperatures, it is probably best to visit early or late in the day.
You will find way fewer people at the top of Na Muang Waterfall 2 than at Na Muang Waterfall 1.
It’s quite a trek up to the top of Na Muang Waterfall 2 but well worth the effort and you get to cool down in the beautifully refreshing water.
If there has been recent rainfall you will find the ground quite slippery on the hike up to Na Muang Waterfall 2. The flow of the waterfall will also be heavier.
Appropriate footwear is recommended if climbing to the top of Na Muang Waterfall 2.
What To Pack
From the carpark to the waterfall is literally a two minute walk.
The entrance and grounds, consisting of lush green jungle, are very well kept, as Na Muang Waterfalls are the most popular Koh Samui waterfalls and tourism is key for locals.
Na Muang Waterfalls are a really popular place for local families and tourists to relax and swim and make a refreshing change from visiting the beach.
This first waterfall is a high rocky waterfall. Not one that shoots over the edge of a cliff but one that runs down the rocks and into the swimming hole below.
We had an awesome day at Na Muang Waterfall 1. There were local kids playing around and dancing and tourists jumping from the small rock point at the side.
If you’re looking for an easy waterfall to get to and a chilled spot to cool off in, then Na Muang Waterfall 1 is your spot.
If you fancy including Na Muang Waterfalls into a day tour you should check out the 7-Hour 4WD Wild Jungle Safari Tour Including Lunch.
Completely the opposite to the first waterfall, Na Muang Waterfall 2 is a bit of a hike to the best part of the falls.
It’s around a 1 kilometre walk from the carpark to the base, through beautiful jungle scenery and up and over gravelled grounds. Once you reach the base of the waterfall you’ll find that this is quite a cool area to stop.
However, if you really want the best of what Na Muang Waterfall 2 has to offer, we recommend hiking to the top.
On the day it seemed pretty painful because of the heat as well as it being a little tricky. So take your time and treading carefully, it should only take a 25-30 minute trek up through the jungle.
Once you reach the top you will realise that it was definitely worth the effort, as the views from the peak of the Na Muang Waterfalls are incredible!
There’s also little private rock pool giving some of the best feels of Samui ever and rewarding your legs after the trek.
