What To Pack

This is the ideal bay to have a great beach day, use as a wedding venue or have a cosy evening by the ocean.
Although privately owned, Lusty Glaze Beach is fully open to the public at no cost.
Situated in a natural amphitheatre of 200ft high cliffs, Lusty Glaze Beach is much smaller than its surrounding neighbours.
However, this picturesque spot made for one of our favourites beaches in Newquay. Mainly thanks to its charming atmosphere.
Located at the northern end of Newquay, the beach can actually be accessed from Tolcarne Beach at low tide. However, the usual path is via the 133 steps leading down from the clifftop.

The Beach Itself
From overnight self-catering chalets, to daily rentable beach huts, and even an Adventure Centre there is plenty on offer at this beach.
There are activities such as climbing, abseiling, volleyball, dodgeball and football. As well as surfing, banana boat rides and jet ski lessons for all water sports enthusiasts!
Lusty Glaze Beach is quite sheltered by high cliffs that block out a lot of the prevailing wind, making this beach less blowy than a lot of the beaches in Newquay.
This beach was crowned ‘Beach of the Year 2017’ by the The Times and The Sunday Times, and we can understand why.
At sunset especially, this majestic little bay comes alive with people coming to eat, drink and listen to the live music that is regularly available.
Beautifully decorated by its owners, the restaurant on the beach serves, amongst other delicious food, amazing pizzas.
In addition, they even serve a special menu just for dogs with all proceeds going to a local rehoming shelter!
It also makes for the perfect place to sit and watch the waves crashing against the rocks or even storms across the bay from this cosy and covered position.
Lusty Glaze Beach is truly a great place to visit all year round. So whether its tucked up in front of the log fire or sprawled out on the beach in the sunshine you’re sure to find something you enjoy.
