Lipa Noi Beach Koh Samui is the best spot on the island for an amazing Koh Samui sunset. Here’s all you need to know before witnessing the firey Thai skies!
How To Get To Lipa Noi Beach Koh Samui
Lipa Noi Beach Koh Samui is on the West coast of the island and is easily reachable thanks to the well maintained main road that loops around Samui.
We stayed in the Chaweng area of Koh Samui and rented a scooter for 150 Baht per day. This gave us access to the whole island!
It’s roughly an hour drive around the outside from Chaweng to Lipa Noi Beach, although we recommend breaking it up by stopping at Namuang Waterfalls.
If you’re looking for transport to and from Koh Samui, you can pre-book all of your Lomprayah transfers.
For those short on time, or that prefer everything to be organised for them, there are some awesome tours on Get Your Guide available to book in advance.

The best time to visit Koh Samui is between the months of December and March, when the weather is most settled.
The hottest month of the year is June, with temperatures reaching 33°c.
This is one of the quieter beaches on Koh Samui and not as commercial as some of them if you prefer to avoid crowds.
There was a fair amount of debris washed up on the beach but it is still worth a visit.
Definitely a good spot for sunset if nothing else.
What To Pack
What To Expect At Lipa Noi Beach Koh Samui
Lipa Noi Beach Koh Samui is not the first beach on everyones list when visiting the popular Thai island.
We however, received a lot of messages through Instagram advising us to head over to the west coast just before golden hour to hopefully catch some colours in the sky!
So over we went, and broke up the day by visiting the incredible Namuang Waterfalls before arriving at Lipa Noi Beach at around 6pm.
It was a little confusing to find the entrance, so we ended up dumping our bike on the side of the road and hopping through the back of some palm trees.
The beach gradually slopes into the ocean and is said to be great for swimming. The white sand is firm and would be nice for a beach walk, although there was some debris scattered about.
There are a few small restaurants on the beach where you can get, amongst other things, amazing coconut shakes.
It was a race for us to get to the beach for our first and final Koh Samui sunset!
The stretch of sand was completely bare and we were the only people in sight just as the colours came through.
The beach wasn’t perfect but the setting made for a romantic end to our final night on Koh Samui!
