Kohtuotsa Viewing Platform In Tallinn – A Complete Guide

Kohtuotsa Viewing Platform is deemed to be one of Tallinn’s best viewpoints. With it’s famous wall quote and incredible view, here’s all you need to know.

How To Get To Kohtuotsa Viewing Platform

Kohtuotsa Viewing Platform is located on the Northern side of Toompea Hill.

If you’re staying in the city, almost everything is within walking distance.

If you’re not up for walking there is public transport operating around the city such as buses, trolleys and trams.

You can purchase a Tallinn card in order to have unlimited transport as well discounts on city attractions during your stay. Or, you can buy a single-ride paper ticket from the driver in cash – exact change only.

As Kohtuotsa Viewing Platform is situated on Toompea Hill, you can only get so close via public transport. You will have to venture uphill through the narrow, cobble stone streets by foot.

For those short on time, or that prefer everything to be organised for them, there are some awesome tours on Get Your Guide available to book in advance.

What To Expect At Kohtuotsa Viewing Platform

Kohtuotsa Viewing Platform is a large terrace area that offers stunning views of the whole city.

You can see the the hustle and bustle of the town below along with the Gulf of Finland as the backdrop.

This special part of Tallinn overlooks the signature red roofs, as well as the high-rise buildings in the newest part of the city.

However, the view is not the only thing that attracts people to this Tallinn viewpoint. There is a pastel pink wall beside the landscape with a catchy quote ‘the times we had’.

In the very distance, you can spot the ocean which is the Gulf of Finland, then the port and the Pirita district.

This, along with Patkuli viewing platform seem to be the two most popular places to see Tallinn from above. It was a really cool place to hang out and is completely free to visit.

During the summer season, outdoor cafe and dance evenings take over the space. However, you are always guaranteed unforgettable views, no matter what the weather.
