4 Best Viewpoints In Koh Tao

If you’re looking for the best Koh Tao Viewpoints look no further. We’ve put together our 4 favourite spots on the island.

1. Nang Yuan Viewpoint

The most recognisable of the Koh Tao Viewpoints!

As soon as we arrived on Koh Nang Yuan, the first thing we had to do was hike to the top of the incredibly famous Koh Nang Yuan viewpoint.

It takes around 15 minutes to get to the top and we recommend hitting it as early as possible to avoid the crowds.

Take water, as it can get super, super sweaty! And please be careful on the way down the small area at the top got pretty overcrowded as we were leaving but the views are insane so definitely don’t miss it out!

If you prefer to get things booked in advance the Koh Tao & Koh Nang Yuan Day Trip by Speedboat is a trip that includes the viewpoint as well as snorkelling and sightseeing.

As far as Koh Tao viewpoints go this has to be No. 1

2. John Suwan Viewpoint

The toughest of the Koh Tao Viewpoints!

John Suwan Viewpoint is easily the most well known Koh Tao Viewpoint available to the public.

It get’s quite busy at the top as it’s becoming more and more popular amongst tourists. Although it’s well worth the visit.

It’s a small hike to the summit. It takes around 15-20 minutes in total and the trek is of fairly mediocre level. The real battle though is against the heat and humidity!

Over looking both Chalok Baan Kao Bay and Shark Bay, the view goes on for miles and is one of the best viewpoints in the South Thai islands.

It really is beautiful, so pull up a pew and take it all in!

Is it worth the hike? Hell yes!

3. Love Koh Tao Viewpoint

The most romantic of the Koh Tao Viewpoints!

This incredible panoramic spot at Love Koh Tao has everything you need for a relaxing afternoon. The romantic terrace cafe overlooks Tanote Bay on the east coast of the island.

With satisfying views overlooking the Gulf of Thailand and ice cold fruit shakes, it’s the perfect place to wind down and spend a few peaceful moments.

With it facing the eastern side of the world, it’s almost certain you’ll catch a beautiful sunrise at the Love Koh Tao Viewpoint.

4. Chalok Bay Viewpoint

The easiest but coolest of the Koh Tao Viewpoints!

Located at the entrance to Freedom Beach carpark. This is a spot we’d been searching for everywhere.

After seeing a couple of photos on Instagram we were on the hunt for the viewpoint between two palms that looks back over Chalok Baan Kao Bay.

There’s no walking involved. It’s just a simple spot on the side of the road.

However it makes for an awesome photo or place to fly your drone!
