What To Expect On Koh Nang Yuan Island

Koh Nang Yuan Island, apart from diving, has become one of the main reasons tourists flock to Koh Tao every year.

Many people choose to get the early taxi boats from Sairee Beach and spend the whole day lapping up the sun in paradise.

The Island opens its gates at 10am but the taxi boats are transferring people over from 9:00.

You will have to let your boat taxi know what time you want to head back to Koh Tao so they can arrange the pick up for you.

Koh Nang Yuan Island closes at 5pm leaving the guests of the islands resort with the privacy of sunset all to themselves.

The island does not promote plastic so upon entrance you will have to leave your plastic bottles at the gate.

You also cannot take swimming/wet shoes onto the island as they don’t want damage doing to the underwater world.

Throughout the day it does get busy along the beach although that doesn’t impact the beautiful scenery of the island.

Swimming On Koh Nang Yuan

There are a few separate swimming areas on the island.

One is more for snorkelling where you can find a Japanese Garden and many tropical fish. The others are where people tend to just chill out and relax.

A part from that take a day of rest and enjoy one of the best islands in Thailand.

Koh Nang Yuan Viewpoint

As soon as we arrived on Koh Nang Yuan, the first thing we had to do was hike to the top of the incredibly famous Koh Nang Yuan viewpoint.

It takes around 15 minutes to get to the top and we recommend hitting it as early as possible to avoid the crowds.

It’s always the first place people seem to head when they arrive as it’s one of the most famous viewpoints in Koh Tao.

Take water, as it can get super, super sweaty!

Also please be careful on the way down. The small area at the top got pretty overcrowded as we were leaving but the views are insane so definitely don’t miss it!
