Hideout Bali In Amed – A Complete Guide

With Hideout Bali having taken the Instagram world by storm. Here we break down our stay in the jungle haven and why it’s simply the best AirBnB in Bali.

How To Get To Hideout Bali

The Hideout accommodations are located in a small village named Selat, in Eastern Bali. Around 30 minutes from Sidemen and 1 hour 30 mins from Ubud.

All three eco bamboo homes, Hideout Bali, Hideout Lightroom and Hideout Beehive, are located within the same grounds, although there’s a different entrance for each hideout. So don’t worry you won’t be sharing with neighbours.

We always choose to rent scooters, which start at around 50,000 IDR per day, and explore ourselves.

However be sure to read up on our renting a scooter in Bali guide beforehand!

If you’re looking for somewhere to rent scooters from you can book a Bali Scooter or Motorbike Rental with Delivery.

Another option is to hire a Bali Private Car or Minibus Charter With Driver, which is pretty popular for day trips around Bali, and they start at around 500,000 IDR per day (8 hours).

For those short on time, or that prefer everything to be organised for them, there are some awesome tours on Get Your Guide available to book in advance.

Our Stay At Hideout Beehive

Hideout Beehive is a unique eco stay for adventurous travelers, hidden in the mountains of the Mount Agung area.

It’s the first of the three Hideout homes to permanently sleep four guests.

With an upstairs rotating bed in the Beehive, as well as a double house overlooking the river, it’s perfect for a couple of couples or a group of friends getaway.

We arrived at around midday, with our friends Lola and Jirapan of Lolapan Travels, and spent the majority of the afternoon relaxing in the secluded garden and hanging out in the small private pool.

The view of the running river below paired with the amazing bluetooth stereo system completed our the jungle paradise feel.

Later that evening we shot some photos and ate some local food whilst enjoying sunset, before crashing out on the oversized sofa and watching a movie under the stars.

The experience at Beehive is not like any other.

It’s rustic, authentic and right in the middle of Balinese village life. It’s the perfect place to unwind for long-term travelers, lovers of nature, or eco-enthusiasts.

We promise you will come out feeling refreshing after just a single night at Hideout.

Some of the other highlights at Hideout Beehive include a fully equipped kitchen, an outdoor shower with hot water and not forgetting the super fast wifi. Although using the internet will be the least of your worries whilst staying at Hideout Beehive.

You won’t get lonely at Hideout Beehive either. Tracy, the recently rescued pup, often pops in to laze on the sofa and hustle for some cuddles.

The Original Hideout Bali & Hideout Lightroom

We could’t end the blog without giving a quick mention to the other two accommodations currently occupying the Hideout grounds.

We took a quick scout around the morning before we left and it’s fair to say we’ll be heading back very soon. Each with it’s own individual style, both Hideout Bali and Hideout Lightroom are incredible.

All of the bamboo houses are situated alongside a beautiful river and amongst typical Balinese rice fields. So if you’re looking to get off the grid for a few days and experience authentic Balinese life then Hideout is your place!
