Handara Gate In Bali – A Complete Guide

The Bali Gate is one of the most iconic Bali photos. So if you’re heading North, here’s everything you need to know for visiting the Handara Gate Bali.

How To Get To The Handara Gate

The Hardara Gate is located in the North of Bali around the Bedugul area, and is one of the best things to do in Munduk.

The famous Bali gate is located directly on the side of the road so if you follow Google maps, you really can’t miss it.

There’s a huge sign showing where to turn in from the road.

We always choose to rent scooters, which start at around 50,000 IDR per day, and explore ourselves.

However be sure to read up on our renting a scooter in Bali guide beforehand!

If you’re looking for somewhere to rent scooters from you can book a Bali Scooter or Motorbike Rental with Delivery.

Another option is to hire a Bali Private Car or Minibus Charter With Driver, which is pretty popular for day trips around Bali, and they start at around 500,000 IDR per day (8 hours).

For those short on time, or that prefer everything to be organised for them, there are some awesome tours on Get Your Guide available to book in advance.

If you are keen on snapping some great insta shots, the Bali Highlights Spots : Middle Bali’s Iconic Landmark takes you on a day trip to all the best spots. Including the Handara Gate, the Bali Swing, Leke Leke Waterfall and more.

Best Time To Visit The Handara Gate

The best time to plan your Bali itinerary, if possible, is between April and October which is the island’s dry season.

This is a very popular destination for tourists wanting to capture the iconic the Handara Gate. So, if you want that perfect shot, we would recommend doing as we did and getting there very early!

However, be warned it is pretty chilly in the early hours of the morning so layer up!

Also, you may miss having to pay a fee if you get there early enough.

What To Expect At The Handara Gate In Bali

As the name suggests Handara Golf & Resort Bali is a fully functioning golf club. A golf club though, with very tall and picturesque entrance gates.

The Bali gates have become crazily popular thanks to social media and are now at the top of most visitors lists particularly as a ‘must have’ Bali Instagram photo.

So off we set with a gang of friends and headed up from Canggu on scooters at 5am to catch sunrise!

We couldn’t help but get off our scooters to capture the sun coming up behind the volcano.

One friendy reminder, WEAR A JUMPER!

Getting up at 5am and driving up north is pretty cold to say the least. You can see in Lauren’s eyes how cold she was.

We’d heard rumours of how busy the Bali gates can get and how the locals now charge money to take photos in front of the famous entrance. Although when we arrived, it was empty!

Maybe we got lucky, or maybe it was the fact we headed up so early. Either way we smashed out our content and moved on with the day.
