Haad Salad Beach in Koh Phangan is a secret haven. With palm trees, beach swings and beach front restaurants here’s a visitors guide.
How To Get To Haad Salad Beach
Haad Salad Beach, not to be confused with Haad Rin, is located on the North East of the island and widely regarded as on of the best beaches in Koh Phangan.
If you’re looking for transport to and from Koh Phangan, you can pre-book all of your Lomprayah transfers.
We stayed in the Thong Sala area of Koh Phangan and rented scooters for 180 Baht per day.
It’s definitely the easiest way to explore the island and took roughly 25 minutes to reach Haad Salad Beach from Thong Sala Pier.
For those short on time, or that prefer everything to be organised for them, there are some awesome tours on Get Your Guide available to book in advance.

Best Time To Visit Haad Salad Beach
With temperatures hovering around 32° to 36° and up to 9 hours of sunshine a day, the months between November and April are probably the driest and best time to visit Thailand.
The months from April to May are the hottest in the country and with temperatures regularly topping 40°, are to be avoided unless you like it really hot!
July onwards starts the monsoon, and the next three months are the wettest, so not a good time to make the journey to Haad Salad Beach.
This is a very quiet, family friendly beach with lots of shaded areas towards the back of the beach.
There are plenty of places to eat and get refreshments here. Although there are hardly any shops in the small village to buy supplies.
There are some great photo opportunities here, so don’t forget your camera!
What To Pack

What To Expect At Haad Salad Beach In Koh Phangan
When we arrived at Haad Salad Beach Koh Phangan, the entrance seemed a little confusing. If you’re following google maps you will drive by a few restaurants and shops turning up at small car parking area.
You will go down a lane and into Haad Salad Resort. This is the normal entrance for the anyone visiting Haad Salad Beach Koh Phangan.
The beach itself is a stunning coastal strip of pure white sand. The ocean is clear and even at peak times, it’s not too busy.
Interestingly, Salad means pirate in the local language and at this bay, many years ago, pirates would lurk waiting for passing ships to plunder. You mind even find some buried treasure if you dig deep enough!
There were quite a lot of families at this beach, which makes sense, as this is one of the quieter areas of Koh Phangan. So, if you are looking for bars and nightlife, this probably isn’t the beach for you.
However, if you are looking for a relaxing and quiet getaway on a stunning beach then this is definitely the place for you.
Also, if you’re looking to take some romantic or fun shots, Haad Salad Beach Koh Phangan has its very own, oddly shaped palm tree as well as some cool swings.
The water here is calm and shallow, again ideal for families, and, if you like snorkelling, there is a reef about 100 metres out.
With a good vibe, friendly atmosphere and a few mid range restaurants, Haad Salad Beach Koh Phangan is a cool and quiet spot to spend some time.
