How To Get To Haad Mae Haad Beach
Haad Mae Haad Beach Koh Phangan is located at the very North West point of the island. It’s possibly one of the most known beaches in Koh Phangan because of the link to Koh Ma Island.

We stayed in the Thong Sala area of Koh Phangan and rented scooters for 180 Baht per day.
It’s definitely the easiest way to explore the island and took roughly 10 minutes to reach Haad Mae Haad Beach from Chaloklum Beach around the corner.
The roads are great if you go either straight up the middle of the island or around the west coast way.

What To Pack

What To Expect At Haad Mae Haad Beach In Koh Phangan
We arrived at Haad Mae Haad Beach Koh Phangan and scooted straight through Wang Sai Resort to gain access to the beach.
This beautiful stretch of soft white sand and turquoise water is huge and is the perfect place for a relaxing beach day. Great for sun worshippers but it also offers plenty of shade under the many large trees
If you fancy being a bit more active, it’s possible to hire kayaks to go exploring or snorkelling equipment to enjoy the beautiful reefs and tropical fishes.
There are beach swings, hammocks and all the usual paradise hangouts you become accustomed to in Thailand including traditional Thai massages.
Although, coming from a western country, do we ever REALLY become accustomed to them?
One of the main attractions, and reason many tourists visit Haad Mae Haad, is the ability to walk over to Koh Ma Island at low tide.
We headed down at around midday and the golden trail lead all the way up to the huge green island.
Koh Ma has become a symbolic photo spot on Koh Phangan. It’s a place that’s used on many postcards and tourist desks around the country.
Surrounded by reefs, Koh Ma is a known spot for snorkelling and rumour has it you can trek to the peak for a killer viewpoint!
We were on a beach hopping session the day we visited, so we weren’t prepared for the hike. Although we’re sure it gives an amazing view of the island.
