The hottest month of the year is June, with temperatures reaching 33°c.
If you arrive early at Freedom Beach there might not be anyone there to collect the fee.
Apart from getting accessing the beach for free, if you get there early this is recommended as a great spot for a spectacular sunrise!

Freedom Beach is a great place for a lazy, peaceful beach day.
What To Pack
Freedom Beach is probably one of the most well known Koh Tao beaches on the south coast amongst travellers.
This is down to its super cosy, tucked away vibes and this secluded feeling makes it easy to switch-off and relax.
Split into two areas, this clean beach is connected by a trail through the trees and the super soft sand and warm blue waters are very inviting.
It wasn’t super busy when we visited but it was definitely a stunning little spot. With a beach hut bar and plenty of trees for shade, it made for the perfect place to chill out for the afternoon.
There’s not a lot to do at Freedom Beach, apart from laze in hammocks or take a walk around the bay to Taa Toh Bay. Another hidden gem!
Alternatively, with a shallow reef just off the beach, a spot of snorkelling in the beautiful turquoise water is another option.
