Duyan Cafe In Bacolod – A Complete Guide

Duyan Cafe was one of our favourite spots on our tour of Bacolod. It’s perfect for foodies, photographers and nature lovers. Here’s all the visiting info.

How To Get To Duyan Cafe

Located up in the Lantawan mountains, Duyan Cafe is a little away from everything local but well worth venturing out to.

The best options are to hire a driver for the day or rent scooters from Bacolod. You can rent scooters in Bacolod for around 400 Pesos per day.

It’s roughly a 45 minute drive from Bacolod City and the easiest way to find it is by following google maps.

A great day would be to visit Duyan Cafe for breakfast/brunch and finish with The Ruins in the evening.

For those short on time, or that prefer everything to be organised for them, there are some awesome tours on Get Your Guide available to book in advance.

Best Time To Visit Duyan Cafe

It is recommended to visit the Philippines during the dry season, which usually starts in November and ends around May.

Make sure you check out the opening hours before you visit, so you don’t miss out on the delicious food.

This is the perfect place to relax and reconnect with nature. So, if you’ve been rushing around and need to slow down, this is the place to visit.

We would recommend visiting Duyan Cafe for breakfast/brunch and then going on to The Ruins in the evening. Bacolod ruins are magical in the evening!

Don’t forget your camera, there are some great photo opportunities.

What To Expect At Duyan Cafe

Duyan Cafe is the latest Instagrammable foodie spot to pop up in Negros Occidental.

Tucked away in the mountains, this hipster heaven away from all the hustle and bustle was one of the top recommendations given to us by friends when visiting Bacolod. And it didn’t disappoint!

There is a small indoor area but the best part is the spacious outdoor decking area filled with tables and chairs where you can just relax in nature, as well as small huts for a bit of private space.

‘Duyan’ translates to cradle or hammock in English, from the native Filipino language Tagalog. And what better setting than to sit in one of the available hammocks with views out over the scenic mountains, whilst enjoying your breakfast in the fresh mountain air.

Serving up delicious cakes, sandwiches and of course local rice dishes, Duyan Cafe is a definite hot spot amongst both locals and tourists.

With its walls covered in graffiti, it was like watching a video clip on repeat as people would come in, snap their selfies and then find a spot to chill and enjoy their brunch.

We didn’t stop for long, as we had a few other Bacolod tourist spots to get to, but we can definitely recommend either popping by for a bite with a view. Or even taking a book up and relaxing amongst nature.

For us, without doubt, one of the best things to do in the Philippines.
