What To Expect At The Dragonfly Maze

The Dragonfly Maze really is a great way to spend an hour or so in Bourton On The Water.

It’s an adult size, traditional hedge maze, with not only a goal of reaching the end, but also a task to complete along the way.

The most important tip if you’re planning on visiting is to get in and book your tickets and time slot as early in the morning as possible.

The Task

To start, you’re given a card and a pencil with the numbers 1 to 13 on it.

Throughout the maze, you have to collect the clues on the ground which are etched into tiles and stones on the way around.

The hedges are high and all look the same, but there are so many different directions that you can go down.

We probably spent longer than most in the maze, although the good thing is it’s dog friendly, so at least we had a few companions to keep us company.

You can get lost with friends or family, and put together the clues in order to help the dragonfly escape the mouth of the toad at the end of the maze!

We won’t spoil it but the whole thing is very clever and you really feel a sense of achievement when you solve it!

We’ve been to a few mazes previously, however this is by far the most entertaining as well as reasonably priced.

Also the lady who runs it was very welcoming and passionate about her maze, which was brilliant!

Overall, a great activity for all ages and definitely one of our favourite things to do in Bourton On The Water.

Whilst in the area, don’t forget to check out The Model Village and the Cotswold Motoring Museum.
