Crystal Bay Nusa Penida is the perfect place to end your island visit. Be sure to save some time for soaking up the sun and catching a Bali sunset.
How To Get To Crystal Bay Nusa Penida
Crystal Bay is located on the West side of Nusa Penida island and is a great spot for sunset.
The easiest way to explore the island is by scooter. They cost around 70,000 IDR per day, and can be hired directly from the harbour port.
On the first day of our Nusa Penida tour, we took a private day trip, which covered all the iconic spots with ease. So if you’d rather visit with a car and a driver we can highly recommend this option.
For those short on time, or that prefer everything to be organised for them, there are some awesome tours on Get Your Guide available to book in advance.
A popular tour that visits Crystal Bay is the Best of Nusa Penida Full-Day Tour by Fast Boat.
Crystal Bay Entrance Fee
Parking – 5,000 Rupiah.
The second time we visited it was around 9am and there was nobody taking parking money. So this fee all just depends on timing.

The best time to visit the island is between May and September, when the weather is dry and it is easy to explore the island.
This is a great beach to visit at any time of day but sunrise is pretty amazing here. Sunset is not too bad either!
This is a great spot for snorkelling and diving, as well as just relaxing and soaking up some sunshine.
What To Pack
What To Expect At Crystal Bay Nusa Penida
Crystal Bay makes for an amazing place to hang at any time of the day although we were lucky enough to spend some time at both sunrise and sunset.
Sunrise was beautiful. Of course the beach was pretty deserted at this time of day so it was incredibly peaceful and special watching the sun slowly come up.
On the way up to Crystal Bay you have to venture through a whole jungle of palms trees. It’s impossible not to stop and take a photo.

The locals are super friendly at Crystal Bay, not pushy or fussy, like some other spots. Additionally, there are beanbags scattered around the beach encouraging you to relax and unwind.
Hanging around for sunset is definitely worth the wait. Sunset was just as impressive as sunrise!
If you’re lucky enough to get some colours, it will be one of your lasting memories on your Nusa Penida itinerary!
We chose not to dive or snorkel. Although it’s certainly one of Nusa Penida’s most famous spots to get your gear on and go and explore the underwater world.
If you do decide to go and explore, the bay offers a sandy area in the middle and beautiful coral reefs on its edges, with plenty of interesting marine life to see.
In fact, Crystal Bay is renowned for being one of the only places in the world to observe the mola-mola oceanic sunfish, who swim in these waters between July and October.
