Chaloklum Beach Koh Phangan is one of the quietest and most peaceful places on the island. So here are all the details you need to visit.
How To Get To Chaloklum Beach
Chaloklum Beach Koh Phangan is located in the centre of the Northern coastline and is the starting point for most of the North Koh Phangan beaches.
If you’re looking for transport to and from Koh Phangan, you can pre-book all of your Lomprayah transfers.
We stayed in the Thong Sala area of Koh Phangan and rented scooters for 180 Baht per day.
It’s definitely the easiest way to explore the island and took roughly 20 minutes to reach Chaloklum Beach from Thong Sala Pier. Using the tarmac road that runs straight through the middle of the island.
From Chaloklum Beach you can catch a taxi boat around to the next bay of Bottle Beach.
For those short on time, or that prefer everything to be organised for them, there are some awesome tours on Get Your Guide available to book in advance.
Chaloklum Beach Entrance Fee
It is free to visit Chaloklum Beach.
Chaloklum Beach Opening Times
Chaloklum Beach is open all day, every day.
Best Time To Visit Chaloklum Beach
With temperatures hovering around 32° to 36° and up to 9 hours of sunshine a day, the months between November and April are probably the driest and best time to visit Thailand.
The months from April to May are the hottest in the country and with temperatures regularly topping 40°, are to be avoided unless you like it really hot!
July onwards starts the monsoon, and the next three months are the wettest, so not a good time to make the journey to Chaloklum Beach.
If looking to swim safely at Chaloklum beach, keep to the northern end of the beach, away from the boats.
There are plenty of places to eat and buy refreshments here.
This is a very family friendly beach with lots of shaded areas towards the back of the beach.
What To Pack

What To Expect At Chaloklum Beach In Koh Phangan
Located through a cute little village with cafes and food shacks, Chaloklum Beach runs parallel to the village.
We were greeted by a huge bay of pristine white sand, turquoise blue water and a very quiet beach area – the epitome of paradise!
With rows of colourful fishing boats lined up on the shore and lush greenery to the back of the beach, the colours here really pop and offer some great photo opportunities.
At low tide the water is shallow and calm, making this is a very family friendly beach with lots of surrounding facilities.
It is also a great spot for kayaking, waterboarding, kite surfing, although with no real reefs to explore, not so good for snorkelling.
Directly behind the beach are plenty of pop up cafes available for lunch and the taxi boats hover in the ocean waiting to deliver people to and from Bottle Beach.
It’s definitely up there for us as one of the best beaches in Koh Phangan. With an easy drive through the centre of the island, there’s no excuse not to visit.
So if you’re looking for a place to chill or head out diving on one day of your Koh Phangan trip, this could be your spot.
