Casaroro Falls completely took our breath away. It still remains as one of our favourite waterfalls in the Philippines and here’s the info for visiting.
How To Get To Casaroro Falls
Casaroro Falls is located in Valencia, around a 30 minute drive from Dumaguete City.
The best way to get around the Dumaguete and Valencia regions is to rent a scooter and explore. You can rent scooters in Dumaguete City for around 500 Pesos per day.
If you’re not confident on a scooter, there are always locals hanging around on trikes, just make sure to barter the price before you ride.
All in all, the trek down from the car park should take around 30 minutes (at slow place). It overs 300 steps on the way down and the flow to the falls is across water/quite rocky. We don’t recommend taking children to this trail.
For those short on time, or that prefer everything to be organised for them, there are some awesome tours on Get Your Guide available to book in advance.
Whilst in Valencia don’t forget to check out Pulangbato Falls, Red Rock Hot Spring and Forest Camp.
Casaroro Falls Entrance Fee
Entrance – 10 Pesos
Parking – Donation (we recommend 5 or 10 Pesos)

What To Expect At Casaroro Falls
Casaroro Falls is a stunning waterfall that flows from a sheer drop of 30 metres.
At the entrance you may get hassled to take a guide, although this is not compulsory. But for your safety and direction, you may feel more comfortable with one.
From the car park to the falls itself is quite a hike. The hike down starts off with around 300 steps. From then onwards, there are slippery rocks and boulders to venture across.
Be super careful walking across the streams, as the flowing water can knock you off balance.
The waterfall itself is not very touristy, so on your way down, you’ll probably only pass one or two tourists. Also there is no marked route to the falls but its easy enough to find.
All in all, the trek to the falls should take around 30 minutes (at slow place).

Although you’ll be able to hear the power of Casaroro Falls from all around you, the beauty of it will pop up out of nowhere. We peaked around the corner and suddenly there it was.
We had no expectations whatsoever when visiting Casaroro Falls as we hadn’t heard any reviews.
So as you can imagine, we were pleasantly surprised at the outcome and had an awesome time admiring this insane piece of mother nature.
If you’re staying in Dumaguete and have a spare afternoon, we highly recommend this incredible hidden spot.
If you haven’t already, you should definitely visit Pulangbato Falls and the Red Rock Springs during your trip. We drove to both of these in the same day as Casaroro Falls.
