Who Are Authentic Slovakia
Authentic Slovakia are a small but enthusiastic team of locals, that take pride in showing tourists around their capital in style!
Brano and Peter, the founders of the company, are brothers. And since 2010 have offered an alternative option to mass tourism in the Slovak capital.
Juro joined the team in 2014, Erich in 2015, and most recently Robo, Lukáš and Janči in 2017. Almost all of them were born and grew up in Bratislava – and they love their city for all its ups and downs.

We opted for the Post-Communist Bratislava Tour, showing us the off-the-beaten-track places of the communist past, as well as recent transformations in Bratislava.
The best part of it all though, was that we got to travel in an 8-seater Skoda 1203 van. There’s also the option of travelling in a 1970-1990s Skoda car, all whilst learning about 20th-century history from knowledgeable guides.

Our Authentic Slovakia Experience
We were fortunate enough to jump on to Authentic Slovakia’s Post-Communist Bratislava Tour during our stop in the capital, and what an experience it was!
In traditional post-communist/capitalist fashion, our group of 8 were collected in retro Skoda cars. We of course opted to ride in the green 1992 VW 8-seater. What a machine!
From concrete housing estates, to the Slavin War Memorial. We visited abandoned factories and tried all sorts of local food and drink at Trznica market.
The guys couldn’t have been more enthusiastic and gave just the right amount of history and facts in a fun and friendly way.
They’ve clearly put a lot of time and effort into creating great Bratislava Tours. Showing us the off-the-beaten-track places of the communist past. As well as more recent transformations in Bratislava.
Overall, we can’t recommend the team at Authentic Slovakia enough. The 2 hour tour was an interesting trip into the locals lives of past and present!
