We spent a little over 3 weeks exploring the island and finding the best waterfalls in Lombok. So here’s a guide to our favourite 4 Lombok waterfalls.
Tiu Kelep Waterfall is definitely the biggest of the Lombok Waterfalls, rising to 42 metres in height, and is a very good reason to travel up North.
Once you’re almost there you will have to walk through ankle deep water to reach the falls.
If you’re lucky, you may also get the young Indonesian children volunteering to help you across.
If you’re unsure on visiting alone, or not confident with trekking, we recommend taking a guide with you by booking a Tiu Kelep and Sendang Gile Waterfall Trekking Tour.
This is a mountain of a waterfall so prepare to get wet if you want to get close to it.
The spray is incredible and super refreshing. It’s also possible to swim here but the water can be quite chilly.
For us this waterfall is top of the best waterfalls in Lombok.
Sendang Gile Waterfall is just a ten minute walk down from the entrance gate and located in the same grounds as Tiu Kelep.
Although not as epic as Tiu Kelep, this waterfall is definitely worth stopping off at, especially as it is so close to Tiu Kelep.
It wasn’t very busy when we visited, with only a couple of other people there, so we made the most of having the place to ourselves.
We’re not sure if you can actually get in Sendang Gile Waterfall, but it is a very picturesque waterfall and makes for a beautiful photo.
One of the most magical waterfalls in Lombok, Benang Kelambu looks like something that belongs in the South American Rainforest.
It isn’t the tallest of waterfalls that we have seen or the fiercest, but there is definitely something special about Benang Kelambu Waterfall.
With water seemingly appearing from the bushes and ferns in tiers of falls in four different places, it’s truly beautiful.
It’s possible to climb on the rocks and into the waterfall as well as have a refreshing swim in the pools at the bottom.
If you’re unsure on visiting alone, or not confident with trekking, we recommend taking a guide with you by booking a Benang Kelambu and Benang Stokel Waterfalls Trek.
Benang Stokel Waterfall is located in the same grounds as Benang Kelambu, although it’s a completely different type of falls.
After the walk down you arrive at a small valley surrounded by towering walls covered in lush green ferns and vegetation.
The falls are not massive but their height was impressive and the surroundings are very pretty
The water at the base of the falls is very shallow and we were definitely not able to swim there, like we did in Kelambu.
On the way out from Benang Stokel we spotted the ‘Jumping Spot’ that had been advertised back at the entrance. This spot is a small waterfall that drops into an inviting pool.
We jumped, and it was amazing! A big reason as to why Benang Stokel makes the best waterfalls in Lombok list.
