Canggu is a foodies heaven. Although once the novelty of avocado wears off, we recommend you try out some of the best warungs in Canggu.
For us this is THE BEST WARUNG IN CANGGU!
When you ask the locals where they go to eat and they recommend Warung Bu Mi, you know there’s a pretty good chance the food is going to be great. We were not disappointed!
Situated right in the centre of where it’s happening in Canggu, you’d expect the prices to be slightly higher.
Although, with its constant turnover of customers and food being replenished by the minute, Warung Bu Mi has managed to compete with the cheapest in the area whilst remaining one of the best Warungs in Canggu.
All the food is presented behind a glass screen and you just point to select what you would like. There is a good selection of maybe 30 dishes or more.
With meat and vegetarian options it’s easy to choose your personal combination of delicious foods.
Run by a lovely local family, they are absolutely killing it with their home-cooked goodness and we often visited for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
Price: 3,000 IDR per item
Location: Jl. Pantai Batu Bolong, Canggu
Our Recommendations: Brown rice with pumpkin curry, corn frittata, green beans, tempe and a little salad!
Oma Jamu means ‘Jamu Grandmother’ and this great little cafe serves healthy vegan food along with juices.
Situated just outside of the hustle and bustle of Canggu this is definitely vegan heaven although I would recommend everyone give it a try.
There is an incredible array of affordable, fresh dishes and is certainly one of the best warungs in Canggu.
The owner is super friendly and highly knowledgeable on the healing properties of foods.
You’d never notice you were missing dairy with all the really delicious creamy sauces they rustle up!
Furthermore, the vegan sugar free chocolate truffles are highly recommended!
They also run a little organic shop inside selling healthy drinks, detox juices and fresh fruit and veg.
Price: All day buffet – 6 items for 35,000 IDR
Location: Jl. Pantai Batu Bolong No.49, Canggu
Our Recommendations: Red rice with lentil curry, creamy mushrooms, corn frittata, sweet potato and chickpeas.
Directly opposite Warung Bu Mi, Memoh Warung serves more of a mixed cuisine.
The restaurant is very simple and authentic and you are really made to feel at home by the friendly staff.
Using fresh, local produce they create tasty, inexpensive meals. They even make their own cashew milk for their coffee which is delicious.
We used Memoh as a base for many evenings. Sitting and talking with the local family that owns it and working on their super fast wifi!
Price: 30,000 – 50,000 IDR
Our Recommendations: The mexican wrap from here is jam packed full of goodness!
A wholemeal wrap made up with bean sprouts, avocado, black beans and all things healthy. Their vegetable curry is a must try too.
This local Warung is technically not in Canggu, but we had to include it in our best warungs in Canggu guide.
You may want to hire a Bali: Scooter or Motorbike Rental with Delivery as it’s a five minute drive across to Berawa. However, we ate here very regularly!
With just a few dishes on the menu and a small buffet this is simple, healthy food done really well! There are some delicious vegetarian options and everything tastes really good.
The cleanest local restaurant we saw in Bali and the girls running the show were always happy to see us.
Price: 30,000 IDR for Nasi Campur
Our Recommendations: Spicy potatoes, soya bean satay sticks and the pumpkin and green bean coconut curry.
