If you’re looking for the best viewpoints in Koh Phangan it’s not too hard to find them. These bars have some of the best views on the island.
1. Amsterdam Bar
In our opinion, Amsterdam Bar ranks as top of the Koh Phangan viewpoints – especially come sunset.
It’s a bit of a climb to reach, unless you take a taxi/scooter to the top of the hill, but totally worth it for the amazing views.
Boasting balconies directly overlooking the ocean, it’s one of the most popular bars on the island and people generally head here to chill with friends, drink cocktails and hopefully catch a memorable sunset.
Consisting of two levels there are no real seats but plenty of cushions to sit or lay on whilst enjoying the relaxed vibe. The lower level also has a swimming pool.
Being one of the most visited viewpoints in Koh Phangan, the cushions fill up really fast, so we recommend arriving an hour or so before golden hour in order to secure yourself a good spot.
Drinks are not too expensive, so you could beat the crowds and head down early to grab a drink, enjoy the views and wait for the sunset.
You can order juices, cocktails, beers, something to smoke and they also have food and snacks.
We visited Amsterdam Bar twice whilst in Koh Phangan and the atmosphere was the same on both occasions – not too rowdy or full of idiots, but a relaxed and friendly feel.
Visiting Amsterdam Bar is also known to be one of the top things to do in Koh Phangan.
Opening Hours: Daily 5:00pm – 12:00am.
Address: Ko Pha-ngan Sub-district, Ko Pha-ngan District, Surat Thani 84280

2. 360 Bar
360 Bar is probably the best of the Koh Phangan viewpoints for chilling out at during the daytime.
It’s a bit of a sketchy road leading up to the viewpoint, so be careful if you’re visiting on scooters, and you must first follow signs into Utopia resort.
However, once you arrive it’s worth the crazy drive through the North!
This secluded hideaway overlooks Koh Ma, a small island connected to Koh Phangan by a sand bar around 200 meters long.
You get almost a birds eye view of the aqua coloured waters, and the tropical Haad Mae Haad Beach below.
To add to the atmosphere, the entire bar is made of bamboo wood and before entering, you will be asked to remove your shoes.
Again, as with all of the viewpoints in Koh Phangan, 360 Bar is popular around sunset. So we recommend heading up early to grab yourself a cushion if you want to catch the sunset.
The bar is built over three levels, with the middle one housing the drinks bar itself. The bar serves shakes, alcoholic drinks, Thai dishes, various western dishes and more.
Beers will cost you around 100 Baht, similar to the majority of other bars on the island. But the chilled vibes and scenic views overlooking Koh Ma are not to be missed.
Opening Hours: Daily 11:00am – Late.
Address: Ko Pha-ngan Sub-district, Ko Pha-ngan District, Surat Thani 84280

3. Bluerama
Bluerama is definitely the most luxurious of the viewpoints in Koh Phangan.
This relaxed hilltop spot is actually an adults only resort.
So, if you’re looking for somewhere a bit more classy, maybe to enjoy cocktails with friends or to head out on a date, then this is an ideal location.
An infinity pool is the centre piece of the accommodation, overlooking the Gulf Of Thailand and there are deckchairs lined up at the ready to relax on.
Serving up cocktails all evening, the Sky Bar Terrace offers stunning views with DJ sessions and live music performances.
We headed up to Bluerama on the final evening in Koh Phangan and it was certainly a beautiful way to finish off our visit.
Opening Hours: Daily 9:00am – 10:00pm.
Address: 162/1 Nai Wok Beach Haad Pleayleam Koh Phangan, Surat Thani 84280
