Having over indulged at too many Canggu restaurants in the past six months, we’ve put together a foodie’s guide to the best restaurants in Canggu.
1. Crate Cafe
Crate Cafe is one of the hottest spots off Batu Balong, and rated one of the best restaurants in Canggu for breakfast.
Offering not only delicious food, but a shop, a beautiful view and happening vibes.
Definitely the place to be, this chill spot among the rice fields will keep you comfy for hours.
We recommend the loaded avo on toast and a smoothie bowl!

2. The Avocado Factory
The Avocado Factory has not long been open and they’re taking no time in making a great name for themselves!
Any avocado lover or smoothie crusher will be in heaven at this little green hub.
With their attentive, smiling staff and top quality food, they’re already up there with the best restaurants in Bali.
Oh, and how cute is this chillin’ little avo!


3. Made’s Banana Flour Co.
The world’s 1st banana flour bakery – what more do you need to know.
Made’s serves up deliciously fresh banana pancakes, waffles and of course the best banana bread we’ve ever tasted!
Conveniently located on Batu Balong, the main street in Canggu, we spent many a morning stroll down to kill our cravings!
Definitely one of the most unique and best restaurants in Canggu!


4. The Loft
You’ll know the insta famous pink wall at The Loft as soon as you see it.
With the caption reading ‘You’ll see it when you believe it’ it’s hard not to miss. Definitely an Instagram number one for the best restaurants in Canggu.
Serving up food as colourful as its walls it was one of the first places we visited in Canggu and it lived up to all expectations!


5. Garden Canggu By Pizza House
Selling huge, delicious wood fire pizza and the best chocolate & avocado smoothies, this place has it all.
The summery salads and fruity drinks are perfect for the daytime. Or the cosy lighting and tasty pizzas set the scene in the evening.
The vintage style furniture and shack style roofs make it a really cool place to hang out with friends.
After food, there’s a bar to chill and have a drink with good vibes and pretty lights.


6. Copenhagen
You don’t have to be Danish to appreciate the work of Copenhagen Canggu.
From the cafe design, to the tick box menu, this cutely decorated breakfast and lunch spot is incredible!
We highly recommend the smashed avo on sourdough with boiled egg and homemade pickled onion.
Oh, and don’t leave without trying their famous Nordic cinnamon rolls!


7. Funky Pancakes
The name pretty much says it all!
This recently opened pancake haven brings the soul and funk into Canggu.
With it’s vegan based healthy, sweet & savoury options, you could take in the vibes here for hours!
Don’t miss out on the signature ‘touch of Dutch’ pancakes – covered in peanut butter sauce, caramelised cantaloupe, and chocolate chips.


8. Gerua Indian & Multi-Cuisine
Let’s talk curry!
So if you’re looking for an Indian curry in Bali they’re pretty hard to come by. Which is why Gerua Indian & Multi-Cuisine on Batu Bolong is such a hit!
Their traditional Indian curries served with rice, raita and naan is to die for.
We can strongly recommend their Aloo Gobi or Daal Fry to kick that curry craving!


9. Bottega Italiana
A quirky hipster Italian restaurant serving delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner.
With the choice of fresh deli sandwich or nutella filled pastries, it’s a great spot to sit and watch the world go by.
We spent many mornings tucked up in the corner of the popular Canggu restaurant.
Fulfilling our sweet tooth cravings and catching up on work.


10. Ji Restaurant
Ji Restaurant Canggu is one of the most beautifully designed restaurants we’ve visited and home to the best Japanese cuisine in Canggu.
The style is super authentic and the stone staircases and marble worktops really give the place a cultural feel.
The food completely made us fall in love with Japanese cuisine. Plus it’s located just around the corner from Batu Bolong Beach.
So you can even squeeze in a Canggu: 2-Hour Surf Lesson before your feast.
Ji Restaurant Canggu has really set a high standard and they had dishes our taste buds will not forget.


11. MyWarung
MyWarung is one of our favourite evening Canggu restaurants.
It has such chilled vibes and presents the fine dining experience with a hipster twist.
The vegan red curry is insane and we may even use it for our anniversary date.
The successful chain also has a few spots dotted around Bali!


12. Gypsy Kitchen & Bar
A shabby chic, vintage heaven! This place really is beautiful and stood out with it’s evening chilled vibes, good music and warm lighting.
You can sit inside or outside and enjoy the relaxing ambience. The food was really tasty and super quirky.
We didn’t know what to expect when we ordered a whole roasted cauliflower but it came out beautifully presented and tasted so damn good!
One of the best restaurants in Canggu for evening ambience!


13. The Savage Kitchen
The Savage Kitchen Bali is one of the cosiest spots in Canggu.
We visited just before sunset and had some of the tastiest food of our lives.
As the sun set behind us and the candles came out, honestly we could have stayed there all night.
We can highly recommend their pumpkin and tofu steak.
Easily one of the best restaurants in Canggu!


14. Roti Daal
After a very long time without Indian food, all of our senses were screaming out loud when we walked into Roti Daal – the homestyle Indian restaurant.
Proudly presenting a menu that changes daily, as well as dishes that are low in oil, low in spice and not using any preservatives or added colours it was a dream place to eat for vegans or vegetarians.
The spices, herbs and vegetables were bursting with flavour amongst all the colourful choices of food.
Roti Daal introduce a unique concept where you can try up to 130 dishes a month if you like.
A thali is the perfect way to try all the different options on display and sample some of the seasonal, fresh produce and recipes inspired by different parts of India.

15. Bali Bowls & Smoothies
One of the tastiest and healthiest ways to start your day in Bali!
Bali Bowls & Smoothies set us up for a fresh day many a times during our time in Canggu.
With their banana and peanut butter smoothie bowls and fresh to death salad concoctions we couldn’t recommend them more!
Definitely one of the best restaurants in Canggu for breakfast!


16. Banh Mi & Beans
Fancy a little Vietnamese whilst in Bali?!
Banh Mi hits the spot every time with its traditional pate and coriander mix up served in fresh soft baguettes!
To crush all your Vietnamese cravings, whilst sipping a fresh coffee on the side, this is one of our favourite Canggu restaurants and lunch spots.


17. Cinta Cafe
A modern cafe with an original Bali lookout.
Serving up all sorts of breakfast foods, from the traditional avo & eggs to some awesome smoothie bowls.
You can also grab brunch burgers and pasta dinners at Cinta Cafe.
So, if you’re looking for somewhere to chill amongst the rice fields in the Canggu/Berawa area then this spot is definitely one of the best restaurants in Canggu.


18. Coffee ‘N’ Oven
Coffee N Oven was our regular spot before or after the gym. Or if we needed our pie and mash fix!
A cute, quaint little spot just tucked up on the side of road, the name says it all.
From pastries to amazing smoothie bowls and of course some of the best coffee in Canggu.
If you’re looking for something filling, we can highly recommend the ratatouille pie and mashed potato!


19. Nude Canggu
Nude is one of the longest players in the Canggu restaurants game!
A sure go to for all digital nomads it’s inside air-conditioned room is always popular whilst it’s outdoor stylistic approach is just as cool.
Serving up the healthiest and hippest breakfast, lunch and dinners, we had to check it out for our first ever charcoal burger bun as well as some of the best smoothies we’ve tried in Canggu.


Where To Stay In Canggu
Luxury – Theanna Eco Villa and Spa
One of the most highly rated hotels in the area!
Set in Canggu, a 6-minute drive to Echo Beach, Theanna Eco Villa and Spa offers villas with private pools.
Guests can also enjoy pampering massages at the spa centre.
The villa also provides free use of bicycles and free shuttle service to the surrounding areas.
Free WiFi is accessible throughout the villa and the whole setting is beautiful.
Mid-Budget – Frii Hotel
Perfect location and just off the main road, this hotel is definitely a spot of luxury at a reasonable price.
Rooms here will provide you with a flat-screen TV with cable channels, air conditioning, minibar and electric kettle.
The rooms also feature an en suite bathroom with shower, which comes with slippers and towels.
Some rooms have sea view or pool view.
Budget – The Hideout Hostel
Situated in the Pererenan district of Canggu, The Hideout Hostel provides free bikes, an outdoor swimming pool and a garden.
Among the various facilities are a terrace and a shared lounge. There is also an on site restaurant.
The units in the hostel come with a coffee machine and a seating area.
