6 Best Beaches In Koh Samui

If you’re looking for the best beaches in Koh Samui then look no further. Here’s our personal round up of Koh Samui beaches.

1. Silver Beach

Silver Beach was definitely the best of the best beaches on Koh Samui and it was all down to the pure white sand and perfectly transparent water.

You can even see little fishes swimming around your legs.

The beach is surrounded by beautiful rocks and private sandy areas. With it having the perfect location and chilled atmosphere, we had to put Silver Beach top of our best beaches on Koh Samui.

For those short on time, or that prefer everything to be organised for them, there are some awesome tours on Get Your Guide available to book in advance.

2. Lipa Noi Beach

Lipa Noi Beach is a little off the beaten track and maybe not the first beach on everyones list when visiting the popular Thai island.

We however, received a lot of messages through Instagram advising us that it was one of the best beaches in Koh Samui for sunset.

So we had to head over to the west coast, just before golden hour, to catch some colours in the sky and boy was it worth it!

This is also a very family friendly beach with shallow waters, that have no rocks or coral in them, and a large beach of soft white sand. The perfect beach for children to enjoy themselves, safely.

3. Maenam Beach

Maenam Beach was honestly one of the most peaceful beaches in Koh Samui.

With far fewer beach vendors and plenty of sand to find your own space, this is definitely one of the quieter beaches.

However, with an entrance that caught our eye and plenty of resorts popping up in the area, it’s definitely an up and coming spot!

You can really relax at Maenam Beach for hours without any of the hustle and bustle that goes on in Chaweng.

4. Chaweng Beach

The most popular of the beaches in Koh Samui is definitely Chaweng Beach!

It’s situated right in the hub of the most touristy part of the island and is generally where people book their stay.

With it being so easily accessible, it does get super busy in peak season. Although that doesn’t stop the beach from being beautiful most days!

For the most beautiful parts of the beach head as far North on Chaweng as possible.

5. Bophut Beach

Bophut Beach in Koh Samui is situated on the Northern point of the Island.

It’s beautiful white sand and crystal blue waters attract countless tourists every single day.

Not only that, but Bophut Beach is smack bang at the end of Fisherman’s Village – which holds an awesome night market every Monday and Friday!

So, if you’re planning a souvenir shop, the Northern Koh Samui beaches are right there to take a dip in before or after shopping.

6. Lamai Beach

Lamai Beach Koh Samui is a stunning beach situated on the South East coast of the island.

We spent some time hunting around the island, and Lamai Beach had some of the best powdery white sands and turquoise waters, even on an overcast day.

Lamai Beach is the second most popular of the Koh Samui beaches after Chaweng Beach. Although they both have a very similar feel.

Within the area of Lamai Beach you can also explore Overlap Stone Viewpoint & Hin Ta & Hin Yai Rocks.

@Charlie Pauly,

Ron didn't have to be a jerk about it, but he is correct. Shame I didn't get to visit when it was cleaner
