The Canggu beaches are some of the most popular destinations in Bali. So here’s our complete guide to the best beaches in Canggu, and reasons to visit.
1. Batu Bolong Beach
The entrance to Batu Bolong Beach is located right at the end of the main street in Canggu, directly in front of Old Man’s Beach Bar & Restaurant.
This beach in Canggu is well known as being the best beach in Canggu to gather for sunsets.
With its prime location, you can watch the sunset from the beach, or with a drink at the bar of Old Mans, or from any of the cafes sitting on the cliff overlooking the beach and Pacific Ocean.
This fabulous, sunset facing, sandy beach is very popular with travellers, surfers, expats and locals alike and is definitely one of the busiest beaches in Canggu.
Batu Bolong Beach is always packed with tourists, as this is where the majority of people gather for beach clean ups, drinks at the beach bars and even weekend markets.
At Batu Bolong Beach you’re always guaranteed a friendly vibe and great atmosphere, whether it’s day or night.
So even if you only have time for a 5 day Bali itinerary, Batu Bolong should definitely be on it.

2. Echo Beach
Echo beach is one of the most popular beaches in Canggu for surfing!
Whether you are a beginner or very experienced, Echo Beach is where the majority of Canggu surfers head. (The two surf breaks on this beach are both fast, so care needs to taken when surfing these waves.)
Board rental starts at 60,000 IDR for 2 hours, or you can grab a 2 hours lesson for 350,000 IDR (including board rental). You can even book a Canggu: 2-Hour Surf Lesson in advance.
Along the beach there are beach clubs and also smaller food and drink stalls that offer bean bags to sit on whilst you relax, enjoy some refreshment and watch the surfers.
You will find sun loungers dotted all the way along Echo Beach, where tourists can be found making the most of these to relax and catch some sun.
Echo beach is also home to the popular Echo Beach Bar and Grill who offer a tasty BBQ every night of the week. So why not grab some food/drink, sit back, relax and enjoy the beautiful sunset views.
Although this Canggu beach is another black sand one, it definitely has a beauty of its own, especially at sunset.

3. Pererenan Beach
The quietest of the Canggu beaches, Pererenan is just a few hundred metres away from Echo Beach but has a much more Balinese rural feeling.
Pererenan beach is another black sand and surfing spot, however, this one is much more popular with locals than tourists.
Generally populated with dog walkers and Indonesian families, you won’t find any food stalls or sun loungers for rent at this quiet Canggu beach.
There is a cocktail truck at the entrance, serving fresh coconuts and both alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages if you are looking for refreshments.
This is a great spot in Canggu for those afternoons when you just want a little peace and quiet away from the crowds.

4. Pasut Beach
A little drive North of Canggu, Pasut Beach is around 30 minutes further from Tanah Lott Temple.
If you’re driving up from Canggu, it takes roughly an hour by scooter and the drive mainly consists of local village roads.
Many locals, and now tourists, head to Pasut Beach specifically to ride their bikes up and down the black, sandy coastline. The sand is quite solid so you can drive your bike along the shore.
If you arrive early enough in the morning you will be able to see the local fishermen taking their colourful boats out to the sea.
One of the things that makes Pasut Beach stunning is the palm tree forest just a few steps from the beach.
There is one oddly shaped palm tree that has caught many people’s attention, and thanks to social media, this Canggu beach is now a must see destination for those heading to Bali.
So we’ve added this one to the best beaches in Canggu list, mainly for its crazy palm, black sand beach and insane sunsets! A great place for some unique photos too!
