Banah Cliff Point In Nusa Penida – A Complete Guide

If you’re looking for one of the best Nusa Penida viewpoints, then Banah Cliff Point should definitely be on your list. Here’s all the info for visiting.

How To Get To Banah Cliff Point Nusa Penida

We broke down day 2 of our Nusa Penida itinerary by visiting Banah Cliff Point, Tembeling Natural Pool and Peguyangan Waterfall on scooters.

Scooters can be rented for around 70,000 IDR per day either from the ferry port or your accommodation.

The roads are pretty rough to all three of the above spots so please take care when driving!

On the first day of our Nusa Penida tour, we took a private day trip, which covered all the iconic spots with ease. So if you’d rather visit with a car and a driver we can highly recommend this option.

For those short on time, or that prefer everything to be organised for them, there are some awesome tours on Get Your Guide available to book in advance.

Best Time To Visit Banah Cliff Point + Tips

The best time to visit the island of Nusa Penida is between May and September, when the weather is dry and it is easy to explore the island.

Banah Cliff Point is still not one of the really well known tourist spots, so you don’t have to go ‘silly’ early to avoid the crowds or enjoy the best of the area.

Although, sunrise is said to be stunning here if you are an early riser!

Don’t forget your camera as there are some incredible views to capture.

Take care at the cliff edges as there are no guard rails.

Also, be prepared for a bumpy ride if you travel to Banah Cliff Point by scooter.

What To Expect At Banah Cliff Point Nusa Penida

Getting to Banah Cliff Point is one of the roughest and rockiest journeys we encountered on Nusa Penida.

Although, if you can withstand the bumpy roads, you’ll be rewarded with a typical, amazing Nusa Penida Island view.

We felt on top of the world, quite literally, when we pulled up on our scooters to dangle our feet over the cliff top edges. With a sheer drop below, this non touristic view point is rural to say the least.

As you arrive there are two main lookout points.

We made it!

The first is self explanatory on the right as you enter. The second is more popular on Instagram but a little harder to find.

If you drive a little further and follow the pathway through the bushes it leads to some narrow steps. These narrow steps will guide the way to an incredible Nusa Penida viewpoint.

The lookout to the open ocean with the lonely arched rock in the middle is definitely a unique spot. The Banah Cliff Point faces east and offers some of the best views on Nusa Penida.
