Balangan Beach Bali attracts many tourists for its iconic sunset viewpoint and chilled surf scene. Here’s all the info you need for visiting.

How To Get To Balangan Beach Bali

Balangan Beach is located in the Uluwatu area of Bali.

It’s around 1 hour 30 mins from Canggu and is easy to find with google maps.

We always choose to rent scooters, which start at around 50,000 IDR per day, and explore ourselves.

However be sure to read up on our renting a scooter in Bali guide beforehand!

If you’re looking for somewhere to rent scooters from you can book a Bali Scooter or Motorbike Rental with Delivery.

Another option is to hire a Bali Private Car or Minibus Charter With Driver, which is pretty popular for day trips around Bali, and they start at around 500,000 IDR per day (8 hours).

What To Expect At Balangan Beach Bali

Balangan beach is known to be one of the biggest surf breaks on the island.

So it’s not only a hot Bali Instagram spot with photographers, but surfers are also in their absolute element here.

Locally referred to as Pantai Balangan, there’s a reef just off the coast that creates one of the longest left-hander breaks on the island.

Balangan Beach Bali is a 200m stretch of golden sand between vegetated limestone cliffs, where you can enjoy the sea breeze and tropical atmosphere.

You’ll find warungs and cafes along the eastern side of the beach if you are looking for refreshments during your visit.

There are also beach loungers with parasols to hire if you fancy relaxing and watching the surfers.

You can also tick off one of the best places to see a sunset in Bali.

Riding the waves, or in our case watching others ride them, in this wide space of turquoise waters is a popular thing to do in Uluwatu.

If you’ve been travelling around the south all day, checking out the best beaches in Uluwatu, then you should leave this one until last.

You can sit at the top of the cliffs, overlooking Balangan Beach Bali, and watch the sun go down across the horizon.

Balangan Beach is such a stunning spot, so much so that we even spotted a wedding shoot taking place whilst visiting.
